HOW MANY GRAMS OF FRESH CRANBERRIES EQUALS 1 TBSP OF POWDER?
One tablespoon of powder weighs roughly 7,3 grams. The fruit concentration in case of blackcurrant is 1:7, meaning it takes 51 grams of fresh blackcurrants to produce 1 tbsp of powder.
IS THE POWDER LAB-TESTED FOR HEAVY METALS, RADIATION, HARMFUL SUBSTANCES, CONTAMINATION?
Yes, it is. All LOOV products are subject to regular lab-testing to be able to guarantee a pure product and to comply with food safety.
IS THIS POWDER MADE FROM THE WHOLE BERRY OR FROM PREVIOUSLY JUICED BERRY?
LOOV berry powders are all made of the entire berry, including their pulp, seeds and peels.
ARE THE BERRIES WASHED?
All LOOV raw berries are sourced from organically certified, clean, growing areas. The berries LOOV use in our freeze-dried products are rinsed with water, primarily this is to remove the possible leaves and other organic bits and the impurity and might have ended up there. There are no chemicals used in washing them.
IS THE PACKAGING BPA FREE?
Yes, all the materials used for LOOV packaging are 100% MOSH, MOAH, Bisphenol A, B and Phthalates FREE.
WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE OF THIS POWDER?
All LOOV products come with 2 years shelf-life from the day of packaging to their best before date. An opened product should be consumed within 60 days after opening to enjoy the most of their nutritional value.
DOES THE POWDER CONTAIN ALLERGENS, SUCH AS DAIRY, GLUTEN, CORN OR NUTS?
No, none of LOOV products contain, or come into contact with dairy, gluten, corn, or nuts. They are produced in a controlled environment so there is no risk of cross-contamination.
DO I NEED TO STORE THE PRODUCTS IN THE FRIDGE AFTER OPENING?
No, this won’t be necessary. The products are best preserved when sealed airtight and stored in a dry, dark and cool place, away from direct sunlight.
WHY ARE THERE CLUMPS IN THE POWDER
LOOV is committed to keeping their product 100% natural which is why it is normal that some clumping of the powder might occur due to the absence of anti-caking agent. This is caused by the natural composition and qualities of different berries, such as their sugar content and acidity. The clumps will not affect the quality or the benefits of the product and by molding the package with your fingers they are easily broken back into powder form.
WILL THIS DISSOLVE IN WATER?
The powder does mix with water but please note it would not completely dissolve in it. The powders are all made from whole berries, including their seeds and peels which are built of fiber and fiber doesn’t dissolve in water.
WHY ARE CRANBERRIES A SUPERFOOD?
Cranberries are widely regarded as a superfood because of their abundant nutrients and antioxidants. Studies have connected these nutrients to reduced urinary tract infection (UTI) risk, potential cancer prevention, enhanced immune system, and lowered blood pressure.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WILD-GROWN AND CULTIVATED CRANBERRIES?
Organic cranberries, scientifically known as Vaccinium oxycoccos, grow wild in Nordic mountain seeps and wet meadows, while cultivated cranberries, typically Vaccinium macrocarpon, are native to North America and preferred for their larger size. Wild cranberries are smaller and more tart due to their low sugar content. Despite their small size, they pack a punch with abundant nutrients and antioxidants. Research links these Nordic wonders to a lower risk of urinary tract infections, cancer prevention, improved immune function, and decreased blood pressure. With organic wild cranberries, you're not just enjoying a delicious treat but also reaping a plethora of health benefits straight from nature's bounty.
